Class End of Year PartyWe are going to celebrate our Class Family and all of the wonderful things that have happened this year on May 24th at Winthrop Park from 3:30-5:00. Families and friends welcome. We will provide light snacks and juice. We hope to see you there!
Art Auction - We Need Basket Donations! On May 19th, SASC will be hosting an Art Showcase and Auction. Click here to RSVP . Each classroom has been asked to create a themed basket to auction off to raise money for our school. Our basket theme is "Summer Fun"! We are hoping that everyone in our school family will be willing to donate items to action off in this basket. The Carnival is Coming! If you purchased tickets for the Carnival they are being sent home in Blue Phoenix Folders today. Tickets purchased on-site will incur an increased fee. Visit www.sascpta.org and select "Orders". CARNIVAL VOLUNTEERS Volunteers are needed for nearly every location and time slot. The Carnival cannot take place without your help! Conventions, conventions, conventions! Math Update: Artists are on Unit 12 working on shapes. Scientists are also studying shapes in Unit 14. Theme Update: In celebration of Earth day last Saturday we are exploring different ways to help our Earth. What can you do at home? PTA Update: Important information regarding teacher appreciation week went home (in a white envelope) in the folders last week. Please be sure check that envelope for details and return the specific components by Friday, April 28th. In writing we are focusing on persuasive writing and using conventions. Math Update: Artists are working with numbers up to 100 using the 100's chart to find the missing numbers. Scientists are finishing up Unit 13 on Time. Help your student by practicing at home! Theme Update: We are exploring the properties of Matter and discussing what states things are in. A BIG thank you for everyone that was able to come volunteer and/or observe at SASC's first Field day! The kids had a blast and we couldn't have done it without your generosity with supplies and your time. THANK YOU! Pictures from the event are down below. Commitment Letters: In your student's blue folder you will find a green half sheet of paper. With the craziness of last week we forgot to send them home. Please fill the out and send them back by this Thursday April 6th so that your child will have a spot next year. Upcoming Dates: April 6th- Tallahassee Museum coming to SASC April 9th - Conscious Discipline Workshop 3 April 13th - New Student Orientation April 14th - The Helpful Forest Hosts FRIDAY SING April 28th - PTA Carnival after school! May 29th - Memorial Day Holiday - No School May 30th - Last day of School Literacy Update: We are working on vowel teams and digraphs. A few groups are doing readers theater to improve fluency and expression! Math Update: Artists are starting Unit 10, Numbers to 100. Students will be using the 100s chart to help count. Scientists are flying through the last few units. We skipped Unit 11 after everyone received a 90 or above on the practice test! We are now on Unit 12 which focuses on using non standard units of measurement. Theme Update: We are working on Matter for the next few weeks.
