THANK YOU! We are getting spoiled this week! We have LOVED the flowers and kind notes from everyone. Auction Reminder! If you have signed up to donate something to our classroom auction basket send them in TOMORROW. We need them in order to get our basket up to snuff for the auction. Auction Volunteers Needed: Sign up to volunteer for the SASC Art Showcase & Auction event on May 19th. We appreciate your help! Click HERE to volunteer for the SASC Art Showcase & Auction! Make sure to RSVP so that you can bid on the beautiful picture that our class made with the help of Sara Allen! The picture will be printed on a large canvas which will be a perfect addition to any room. Other than the arms students were free to pose in any way they liked. We are using interesting picture prompts to get the creative juices flowing. Math Update: Artists just finished up Unit 12 and are moving on to Scientists are finishing up Unit 14 about shapes. Test tomorrow! Half Day Information Early Release Days will occur on May 25th, 26th, and 30th. We will spend these three days playing, relaxing, and connecting with our school family. LUNCH is optional on these three days. Some car pickup families choose to eat after dismissal. If you are not sending in a lunch, let your child know ahead of time so they know what to expect. School lunch will be served to students who qualify and have signed up for free/reduced lunch. TRANSPORTATION choices for Thursday, Friday, and Tuesday must be noted below. A BIG thank you for everyone that was able to come volunteer and/or observe at SASC's first Field day! The kids had a blast and we couldn't have done it without your generosity with supplies and your time. THANK YOU! Pictures from the event are down below. Commitment Letters: In your student's blue folder you will find a green half sheet of paper. With the craziness of last week we forgot to send them home. Please fill the out and send them back by this Thursday April 6th so that your child will have a spot next year. Upcoming Dates: April 6th- Tallahassee Museum coming to SASC April 9th - Conscious Discipline Workshop 3 April 13th - New Student Orientation April 14th - The Helpful Forest Hosts FRIDAY SING April 28th - PTA Carnival after school! May 29th - Memorial Day Holiday - No School May 30th - Last day of School Literacy Update: We are working on vowel teams and digraphs. A few groups are doing readers theater to improve fluency and expression! Math Update: Artists are starting Unit 10, Numbers to 100. Students will be using the 100s chart to help count. Scientists are flying through the last few units. We skipped Unit 11 after everyone received a 90 or above on the practice test! We are now on Unit 12 which focuses on using non standard units of measurement. Theme Update: We are working on Matter for the next few weeks.
